About this policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Chuk's Hut, LLC, doing business as PairPal, collects, uses, and protects information when you use PairPal.
What Data We Collect
PairPal collects: your email address and name (for your account), taste preferences, saved wine pairings and ratings, menu scan data (extracted text, not photos), and optional photo location data (GPS from menu photos, if enabled).
How We Use Your Data
Menu photos are processed via a third-party AI service (OpenAI) to extract wine lists and dishes. Photos are transmitted securely and are not stored after processing. Your preferences and pairing history are used to personalize wine recommendations.
Account & Cloud Sync
PairPal uses Supabase for authentication and data sync. Your pairings, preferences, and scan history are synced to the cloud so you can access them across devices. Data is stored securely with row-level security—only you can access your data.
Photo Processing
Menu photos are sent to OpenAI's API for text extraction. Photos are processed in transit and are not stored by PairPal or OpenAI after processing. If photo location is enabled, GPS coordinates from photo metadata may be used to identify restaurants.
Data We Do Not Collect
PairPal does not collect: contacts, device identifiers, advertising data, browsing history, or any form of cross-app tracking.
Your Rights
You can delete your account and all associated cloud data from the Profile tab. To delete local data, uninstall the app. You can disable photo location access at any time in the Profile tab.
Children's Privacy
PairPal is intended for users of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
